ABOUT OUR ADORNMENTS

All DRAGAICA DALBA adornments follow the old tradition and use Venetian trade beads made in the early 20th century (often with gold or silver leaf incorporated). These are precious pieces by virtue of material, craftsmanship, and age, now mounted to contemporary standards in sterling silver and gold-plated silver.

Our selection is rooted in historical jewelry — museum pieces and painted representations — without aiming for identical replicas. We favor well-balanced simplicity and fine workmanship, bringing a bygone aesthetic into the present.

We chose beads that once circulated in the Romanian lands, contemporary with traditional dress: Murano (Venice) production from the early and first half of the 20th century.

All glass components are entirely handmade and retain the “beauty of imperfection” specific to handcraft — subtle variations in color, shape, or size that give each piece its own character.
